CCleaner (formerly Crap Cleaner) is a freeware utility program used to optimize a user's computer performance and clean its registry. It was developed by Piriform and is designed for Microsoft Windows. CCleaner is freeware, though Piriform accepts donations through its website to develop the company's programs further. CCleaner is available in 37 different languages, with more to be added. Piriform claims on the homepage that as of 26th October 2009 CCleaner had over 350 million downloads.
